Perseverance against invisible negativity

Perseverance against invisible negativity.

.

As I processed some deep emotions this morning, this statement came to me. Emotional healing is hard, and it’s often a pain that others can’t see. The hardest part of the journey can be the pain that’s invisible to others.

.

It can feel lonely—like no one could possibly understand. We live in a world that teaches us to numb our pain instead of giving us the tools to work through it. Most of the world is still in a state of telling people to “man up” or “deal with it” rather than asking, “how can I help”, “what do you need?”

.

We all need support. We all need to feel safe in all our feelings. We all need community.

.

Ask someone how they are doing today.

Smile at a stranger.

Be a safe space for people to be human.

.

Our world needs more of us to meet people in the messiness of their human experience. You never know what invisible battle someone might be fighting.

.

If you or someone you know needs help, dial 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. There is help, we just have to build systems that allow people to trust it.
