Gate 41, which typically happens around January 22–23 is the portal to new beginnings. This is the energetic ignition point for the year. We need the spark of creativity to fuel our dreams. This gate lives in the Root Center, which means it carries a deep, pulsing pressure to start something new. Today is a day of dreaming, imagination, and emotional experience, not about action. It is the energy of visualizing the possibilities and getting curious about them while feeling into them in your body.

Today wants us to ask the question, “What if?”

As we step into this energy, we are invited to align with our intentions for the year ahead. The root center can speak to us in pressure. This energy will show up differently for those of us who have an undefined root vs. a defined root.

I have an undefined root, so I understand the pressure of this center well. I am also a Splenic being, so I am very much here to live in the moment and take things as they come. Trying to plan what I will be doing in my business next December does not feel good in my body. I can step into this energy and allow myself to dream and create intentions around what I want to do. These intentions, and the idea factory, that can so freely flow through my defined head, feels aligned and inspiring to me.

People with this definition often feel more capable of setting long-term goals and seeing them through because their energy is self-sustaining. They tend to approach goals methodically, as the energetic adrenaline drive from this center helps them maintain focus and progress without needing external motivation. So today you may dream about the goals this year and start to write out a strategic plan around how to hit those goals.

Whether you have a defined or undefined root, this week’s energy is not about action. Take some time today to reflect on your dreams.
